Decorative laminates

Decorative laminate (HPL, also called sunmica) is a 0.8–1 mm sheet of resin-pressed paper that is glued onto plywood or MDF. Its melamine face resists scratches, stains and heat. Ratnam sells it in 8 × 4 ft sheets made to IS 2046, under its Sunshine and Smart Shine brands and the ELYT Lanvin range, for furniture, wardrobes, kitchens and wall panels.
